Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 5, 2026

1. Introduction

WildRoute AI ("WildRoute," "we," "us," or "our") operates the wildroute.ai website and the WildRoute mobile application (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and, optionally, your display name. If you sign in with Google or Microsoft, we receive your name and email from the identity provider. We do not store your OAuth passwords.

Location Data

We request your device location only while the app is in use to find nearby campsites and safety services. We do not track your location in the background. Your last-known location may be cached locally on your device for convenience; it is not sent to our servers unless you perform a search or safety lookup.

Rig & Vehicle Profiles

You may voluntarily provide details about your vehicle or RV (type, dimensions, tow capacity) so the AI can tailor search results and route warnings to your rig. This data is stored in your account.

Search Queries & Trip Data

We store your search queries, saved trips, and trip stops to provide the Service. AI search queries are sent to our language-model inference provider (see Section 4) for processing. Recent searches may be cached locally on your device.

Feedback & Bug Reports

When you submit feedback, we collect the category, description, your current page URL, browser/device user agent, screen dimensions, and any search context (query, rig info, AI answer snippet) to help us reproduce issues.

Device & Usage Information

We automatically collect standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, operating system, device type, and referring URL. We use this for security, analytics, and to improve the Service.

Advertising & Analytics Cookies

On our marketing website (wildroute.ai) we use the Meta Pixel from Meta Platforms, Inc. to measure the effectiveness of our advertising, understand which pages visitors view, and to show relevant ads on Meta-operated platforms (Facebook and Instagram). The Meta Pixel sets cookies and sends page-view and signup events to Meta. We do not send Meta your email address, name, or other directly identifying information. You can opt out of Meta-personalized advertising in your Facebook ad preferences and via the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out.

Also on the marketing website, we use Google Tag Manager from Google LLC to load our marketing and analytics tags, such as Google Analytics and Google Ads measurement. These tags can set cookies and send page-view and signup events to Google. Like the Meta Pixel, they load only after you accept cookies in our consent banner, and we do not send Google your email address, name, or other directly identifying information. You can opt out of Google-personalized advertising in your Google ad settings and block Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data, rig profiles, trip data, and search query logs for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time — see Delete Your Account for how, or contact us at privacy@wildroute.ai. Deleting your account removes that data, along with your search history.

Two things outlive the deletion, and we'd rather say so plainly than bury it. First, camping spots you submitted and we verified stay published — other campers plan trips around them — but they are detached from your account and shown as anonymous community contributions, with nothing linking them back to you. Second, we keep limited records the law requires us to, such as transaction records for tax and accounting. Backups holding residual copies are purged on our normal rotation within 30 days.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption for all data in transit, encrypted databases at rest (AES-256), encrypted Kubernetes secrets (etcd encryption), private VPC networking, and non-root container execution. Auth tokens are stored in your device's secure keychain (iOS) or encrypted preferences (Android).

7. Children's Privacy

WildRoute is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data. You may also opt out of non-essential data processing. To exercise these rights, email privacy@wildroute.ai.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or an in-app notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
