Delete Your Account

Last updated: June 13, 2026

You can permanently delete your WildRoute account and the data associated with it at any time. This page explains how, what gets removed, and what we're required to keep. It applies to the WildRoute mobile app and the wildroute.ai website, which share one account.

Option 1 — Delete in the app (fastest)

If you have the WildRoute app installed:

  1. Open the app and go to the Profile tab.
  2. Tap Delete Account.
  3. Confirm at the two-step prompt.

Your account and your personal data are deleted from our active systems immediately. This cannot be undone. Spots you contributed stay published but are anonymized — see below.

Option 2 — Request deletion without the app

If you no longer have the app installed, email privacy@wildroute.ai from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. So we can verify the request is yours, please send it from that same address. We process these requests within 30 daysand email you to confirm when it's done.

What gets deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes:

  • Your account and profile (email address and display name)
  • Your rig and vehicle profiles
  • Your saved trips and trip stops
  • Your saved camps and workbenches
  • Your search history and saved searches

What stays published, without your name on it

Spots you submitted and we verified stay on the map. Other campers rely on them, and pulling verified spots out from under people who are already using them to plan trips isn't something we're willing to do.

What we remove is the link between those spots and you. Your submissions are detached from your account and shown as anonymous community contributions — the spot description, photos, and road and rig notes remain, but nothing on the page connects them to your name or email, and nothing in our database does either.

If you want a specific spot taken down rather than anonymized, email privacy@wildroute.ai before you delete your account, and tell us which one.

What we keep, and for how long

After deletion, residual copies may persist briefly in our routine encrypted backups, which are purged on our normal rotation cycle within 30 days. We may retain a limited record where the law requires it (for example, transaction records for tax and accounting). Any data we keep for analytics is aggregated and anonymized so it can no longer be linked to you.

A note about paid subscriptions

Subscribed on the web (card payment)?Deleting your account cancels that subscription for you, before anything else happens. If we can't reach our payment processor to cancel it, we stop and leave your account intact rather than delete it and keep charging you — you'll see an error and can try again.

Subscribed through the App Store or Google Play?We can't cancel those for you — the store owns them, and only you can cancel from your own account. Do that before you delete, or future charges keep coming: App Store → your name → Subscriptions, or Google Play→ profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
